·         Develop a Patriot U Learner Profile:

-          We like IB but it needs to include collaboration and working independently

-          We like the active verbs in the effective learners communicate sheet

-          Create portfolio using work from each class to prove they have developed all skills in the learner profile

-          LP will be in every classroom and referred to often

-          Create an LP poster and include image symbols for each skill

·         Talking Points for Parent Night:

-           Common language among teachers will include; 21^st century skills, CIF strategies, collaboration among teachers and between teachers and parents, bonding together the right group of teachers, meeting individual goals, future ready skills, making the transition to high school easier, college/career directed path for high school, developing a 4yr plan, and project based learning

·         NCNS Summer Institute June 24-26 in Concord, NC:

-          Goal is that we attend summer institute together for collaboration

-          Post-pone AP summer institute this summer (offered during the same time)

·         Identify Skills to be Taught in MHS 101 and All Core Classes:

-          On syllabus list of objectives add bullet about manifesting learner profiles

-          Change course philosophy “outcomes” to “leaner profile”

-          Student activities room being changes into a College Ready Room

-          Add objective of subject-specific vocabulary

-          Should we single out vocabulary method?  Maybe offer 5 methods for them to choose from.  These strategies will be taught in MHS 101 and used in core classes

·         Personalization:

-          When do we plan to finish curriculum?

-          Create a pacing guide for how we’re going to prepare Patriot U for the rest of the semester and summer

-          Are we adding P.E. to this group of Patriot U teachers?  They interact with every freshmen.  We need to think of how we’re going to incorporate them.

-          Include P.E. teachers in next Patriot U meeting

·         Action Plan To-Do’s  before  Next Meeting

-          Look at learner profile examples and come with our top 10 skills

-          Whitt creating facebook page for Patriot U for sharing ideas.  Knapp doing the same in a google doc

-          E-mail Gordon whether you can or cannot attend Summer Institute

·         Important Dates:

-          Upcoming freshmen parent night on March 11^th

-          Next Patriot. U. meeting will be on March 11^th  in Maher’s room (S156)

·         Next Meeting

-          Specifiy which teachers are teaching 101

-          Identify steps for pacing guide of how we will be planning Patriot U and MHS 101 for the rest of the semester and summer
